Stuart Slimp is a Stuntman, Actor, Musician, Photographer, and all around creative force. In 2006 he began his career at Old Tucson Studios – first as a stage hand handling sound, lighting, and eventually pyrotechnics, before he became one of the primary actors and stuntmen for the many shows throughout the park. Stuart has a winning charisma and, as such, has often played larger roles – those of the hero, the villain, and the foil (comic relief). When he was ready to move on to bigger and better things, he signed a contract as a performer in Guangzhou, China, and began working there as a stuntman and actor. Eventually, he became stage manager. This would only begin his globe-trotting adventure!
His trip to China also sparked his photography career as well. Stuart discovered this hidden talent of his when his sister forced a Sony digicam on him and insisted on pictures. Eventually, he upgraded to a Nikon DSLR and began shooting fashion, models, landscape, urban, cityscape, and candid portraiture. His photography has been featured in magazines and catalogs around the world and fine art prints are currently available.
The thing Stuart loves the most about photography is the joy and happiness he finds exploring his creative process and this unique form of self-expression. He has a unique “eye” (the gift of vision that visual artists have) and sees things in different ways and is able to bring what may be considered “mundane” into the world of the unique and daring.
Stuart also enjoys sharing this vision with anyone who is interested in seeing it. He’s generous with his photography and photographic gift and enjoys collaborating with other artists to create a unified vision. It’s this ability to pull together multiple messages, visions, and perspective into a unified whole that really sets Stuart’s photography work apart.
Stuart is now working in Tianjin, China, as a stuntman and actor, photographer, and musician playing the bass guitar.
